plaster casts of my own body; made into mannequins. I built the wooden post; and designed the tool dresses/skirts. A very long process; but it sure made me feel accomplished :)

chakra inspired

My elements of visual thinking final piece. I created three garments inspired by chakras.

this piece above is actually a mix of two of my pieces. the black dress becomes a skirt, and the purple dress can be covered to just show the top.

The red chakra, the first chakra. This piece has reversible straps; it can be a one shoulder, or a halter top.

The purple chakra.

a mix of the yellow and dark blue chakras.

this final i'd say was one of the most challenging for me. i went through the entire process; sketching, fabric choosing, patterns, and sewing the final garment together. Even photography! My friend took these beautiful pictures for me, she helped quite a lot. :) so I see myself doing this. I absolutely love it.

Some pieces made by me in my Intro to Fibers class. This class really has taught me so many hands on techniques and processes. With screen printing and weaving, you can create so many unique pieces of art and fashion. I'm so glad that I have these skills under my belt.

There are so many beautiful tribal prints and weavings from Asian cultures that are created.

I'm actually in class right now...O.O! haha so I will continue with this entry soon.

So class is over, and registration begins in 29 minutes!! I'm a bit anxious, worried ahhh! I'm still in the classroom. My teacher and another student is in here, showing him a music video. I'm just waiting for it to be 2:30 so I can register. I have so many classes that I want to take. Oy! But other things on my mind, FINALS. I have five. And I've been stressing. Yesterday I was in the Fibers Department working on my fibers final... and for 2.5 hours I was attempting to understand my own idea for my final, but I was so stuck and kept messing up. I really was getting quite frustrated. My little anecdote: I was so stuck, I cut out a square piece of cloth and just started sewing random patterns on it. But then I started seeing really cool things that happened to the cloth after sewing circles and shapes, and this random thing turned into an experiment. And I have my fibers class today, I'm going to show my teacher my mini experiments. I hope everything turns out alright, and I feel a bit less stressed because of my new ideas.
